Chad Helmer came to Christ in 1997 through the ministry of Athletes in Action. In 2005 he graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Computer Science and married his wife, Christy. Chad worked in the information technology industry for three years before joining the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ at Ohio University in 2008. Chad enjoys spending time with his wife, reading, hanging with friends and tinkering with technology.
Christy Helmer has been on staff with Campus Crusade since 2007. She primarily works with women on West Green. She and her husband Chad met through their involvement in Campus Crusade as students at Ohio University. They were married the week after they graduated from OU in 2005 and moved to Columbus where they worked for two years to pay off student loans. They then joined Campus Crusade for Christ’s staff and moved back to Athens in the summer of 2008.
Christy’s favorite part of staff is building relationships with women and watching their lives change as they grow in their personal relationship with God. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing with dogs, planning socials, traveling and cake decorating.
