Most Christians have heard of God’s “calling” on a person’s life. But what does that really mean? According to 1 Timothy 1:12, God gives us strength to serve him: “I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service.” During this retreat, you’ll hear enriching talks, worship with the 180 praise band, and still have time to hang out with friends, go for a hike past the waterfalls, or just relax. Through all these opportunities and more, you’ll learn what it means to be called by God, how to serve God better, and how to be Ready When Called.

Worship with your money

Money is a big concern for most college students. Whether it concerns how much we’ll make when we graduate, debt from loans, or how we spend what we have, for most students college is the first time they get to make financial decisions on their own. Money can become such a big concern that we just about worship it. However, God wants us to worship with our money. This series focuses on what it looks like to make wise decisions wherever we are financially so that we don’t worship money, but worship God through the way we use it.

Hope for Haiti

Update: OUCCC students raised over $1200 to help those affected by the disastrous earthquake in Haiti. Thanks so much to all who gave so generously!

Official update from CCC nationally: Please pray for all of our missionaries in Haiti. This has been a traumatic event and they need all the support they can get.

Global Aid Network has been leading Campus Crusade for Christ’s response to the tragedy. They have set up in an area called Croix des Bouquets on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince consisting of 30-40 small villages that have received very little help.

The situation is constantly changing, but here is a summary of what GAiN has been able to accomplish:

Distributed 2 containers of relief supplies with 10 more on the way

Set up a medical clinic on Jan 21, with volunteer doctors and nurses

Trauma counselors have conducted a training session with 120 pastors

A network of churches have agreed to work with GAiN to provide locations for additional food distribution, medical clinics and JESUS film showings

Many of the supplies are just now arriving in Haiti, so the distribution of food and water will increase sharply over the coming days and weeks.

IndyCC ‘09: Wrecked into Redemption

Broken promises, broken relationships, broken dreams…you can’t fix them on your own. You, too, are broken. Who picks up your pieces? Can you pull it all together? What keeps you from being filled? To become whole, you must experience what it means to be?wrecked into redemption.

IndyCC is the annual winter conference for college students, hosted by the Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, from December 28 – January 1. The conference includes four fun-filled days with main sessions, worship, amazing seminars, an awesome New Year’s Eve party, a concert and so much more. You’ll get to spend time with your friends, meet new ones from your college, city and all over the midwest and engage in fun activities in downtown Indianapolis. Where else would you want to be?

Triple Threat Halloween

Triple Threat Halloween! Don’t go home for the weekend! Stay and hang out with your friends from OUCCC! Stop by 32A N College starting at 7pm on Oct. 31 to help with the outreach, pray in the Jericho walk, or just hang out and have fun. That’s right – it’s a three part event:

1) Outreach! Take steps of faith and share the gospel with your peers at the block party on and around Court St. What will this look like? Well, it’s just about asking deep questions, having spiritual conversations with people, and sharing the love of Christ to your generation. It’s about taking steps of faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to share Christ and leaving the results to God.

2) Jericho Walk! Go on a prayer walk around the block party to pray for our peers at OU, for the movement of OUCCC, and the outreach that is going on while you pray. Prayer is a great way to get closer to God and an essential part of trusting God to be at work in the hearts of students on our campus.

3) Party! Use this time to relax and warm up after doing the outreach or the prayer walk. This party is also open to non-believers who just need a place to chill. The doors are open! Come and dress up and have fun Halloween-style!
